Neither is the reality of your nature nor where you stand trying to come back your mind, according to ACIM.
The Law of Cause and Effect is this: Based on the mind you use as cause, you might find the corresponding effect. Ideas don’t leave their source: You.
Let’s use this example:
Someone is feeling the consequences to be “poor,” or lack, in this world and wants to improve their beliefs to are in possession of “rich” (abundance, prosperity, money) show up. Both “poor” and “rich” are judgments of the ego utilizing it as cause which could only produce ego effect. Ego as an unstable thought system, everything you choose as “rich” will eventually go and you get back with “poor.” It’s just a question of “when.”

This is in comparison to choosing correction of your head (forgiveness) where both “poor” and “rich” don’t exist. A choice for correction of your head allows the Holy Spirit Right Mind to be your cause which affects the you in this world; however acim podcast, it generally does not have the consequences you imagine because the ego cannot relate. It returns a portion of your head to peace and ends senseless worry over rich and poor. Additionally it produces effects in your life here but you will have to choose correction to have them.
Let’s look at how ACIM breaks this all on to an easy group of principles predicated on Cause and Effect. It only features a few components and when understood and used, they could be “mind” correcting!
The Metaphysics:
Remember, according to ACIM, your head is split by the ego’s judgment that we could possibly be separate, also called the “tiny mad idea,” or the error that never occurred. This portion of your head is simply hidden in darkness as it banished itself from Knowledge (Heaven and Oneness) whenever we forgot to laugh off what could not be true. It did not, however, separate.
So in ACIM it is not about affirmations or changing beliefs, because your head never left God and still resides at home with Him. You can find no “belief” judgments in Love, Oneness, Heaven and Knowledge as everything is exactly the same, all one, and nothing to trust or judge between.
Instead, it is all about changing your internal Teacher or rather, who you’re listening to for interpretation of events in this world. The sole change is in the choice involving the split mind (error) of the ego or the Holy Spirit Right Mind (correction) as that internal Teacher.
This is where in actuality the simplicity is evident in ACIM because there’s no convincing the ego wrong and right mind of another method of thinking. You merely quit what so long as want. We do it constantly with ego stuff; and now we just do it with the ego beliefs themselves.
Forgiveness:
This says all of it: Forgiveness is correction of the mind. In ACIM, there is nothing to forgive because no error has happened, i.e., no separation happened. Everything you are doing is simply returning your mind to God, where it never left, and to its natural state of peace. To achieve that is simply a choice which side of the split mind to be controlled by for interpretation of events and turning on the judgments so long as want to the Holy Spirit Right Mind for correction (forgiveness).
The Holy Spirit is the clear answer to the separation put in your head by God and every answer can there be awaiting you. Atonement, forgiveness, salvation and True Perception are other words that are synonymous. You need to be prepared to use the Holy Spirit Right Mind for interpretation of events and do the actual work of giving judgments (beliefs) to this side of your head, via your choice maker, because so long as want them.
It really is that simple and only confusing because of the belief that the only real choice is between ego judgments of “poor” and “rich,” to use the sooner example, and not understanding about any of it third option being available. The decision for True Perception is to choose neither ego judgment and relinquish both for correction of the mind. This is what is takes to come back your head to God.
Decision Maker:
ACIM is directed at your decision maker in the mind. The whole point is that you have a choice which side of your head to be controlled by and use for interpretation. That is all that ever happened to start with. It absolutely was a choice to listen, believe and choose judgments of the ego that separation happened and the ensuing sin, guilt and fear. Judgments can be dismissed as easily as you dismiss other things you don’t want because they are not real.
A few things stop you from relinquishing judgments: (1) your attachment to them to be true and real; and, (2) not acknowledging how you feel keeps them hidden so you don’t realize they’re judgments.

It is neutral, an observer and is something you have to employ to watch your head and the judgments being created by the ego. Whenever you realize you have used something from the ego error of the incorrect or right mind, just be prepared to hand them to the clear answer, or the correction, of the Holy Spirit Right Mind. It manages the rest as the Atonement or solution is already there. No affirmations are necessary. You are simply giving up whatever so long as want. It is, and certainly can, be that easy.
Form and Content:
The last component to understand from A Course in Miracles is form and content. Form is this world and everything in it. In ACIM, form does not matter and is the main “beliefs” to be turned over. However, you use everything in form, along with the judgments in your mind, as the curriculum of what to show over for correction (forgiveness).
What does matter is content and in ACIM, content could be the mind. The mind you are using for interpretation (perception) of people, places, and things, etc., counts for everything. You are able to just have one master: (1) the Holy Spirit Right Mind (correction); or, (2) the ego wrong mind (error) and that features both interpretations of the ego mind.
To conclude, consider the simplicity of ACIM which is a Course in training your mind just how to perceive properly. You should return your head to peace because the Kingdom of God is peace and you can’t start to see the doorway from judgment. You only see peace in peace and while sharing peace with everyone.
All ACIM says is you have the willingness to learn how to try this, study the ideas and then use it into practice. The help you will need will appear; but you, my friend, must do the task of this inward journey back to the mind.
The Law of Cause and Effect is the form, or mind, you’re using for interpretation will undoubtedly be your effect in this world. It will affect you in other ways by returning your mind back again to back to peace where you eventually start to see the illusion of choice, because no separation occurred, and choose to provide it down once and for all.
